Because I was moving last week, I didn’t have the time or inclination to design a new pattern for the ’50s challenge. I had a few ideas for this such as greasers or sock hop dancers but there just wasn’t time. So, I repurposed one of my recent patterns. I love mid century modern and have several designs. I picked one of my favourites. It’s a nice repeatable design with a modern yet vintage feel. I didn’t reinvent the wheel with it but rather just my twist on a bog standard midcentury design. I received a comment on Spoonflower that the design was “liveable”. I thought that was a nice compliment because I definitely designed it more with home decor in mind (which is the case for a lot of my work).

Next week is the 1960s. Stay tuned. It is sure to be…groovy.
